About the role
- Develop and articulate a clear, compelling vision and strategy focused on enhancing PayPal's marketing strategy and brand identity
- Oversee and direct the development of creative strategies, content programs and campaigns with direct impact on revenue, expense, budget, and growth
- Negotiate with and influence the decision-making of senior internal and external executives and decision-makers
- Create operational and strategic objectives and plans for fostering brand loyalty
- Provide guidance to cross-functional and cross-organizational teams focused on business transformation across PayPal
- Identify and resolve strategic problems by developing new or innovative solutions
- Lead the development and global implementation of PayPal’s brand strategy and own the brand’s core elements (voice, tone, behavior, narrative, naming, architecture, design systems)
- Drive brand governance and brand architecture across product and services, balancing consistency with local relevance
- Set the creative vision and define the bar for excellence in brand storytelling, advertising, and communications
- Architect and launch cross-functional, insight-led global campaigns that drive measurable brand and business outcomes
- Ensure alignment between brand marketing and product marketing across paid, owned, earned, and in-product channels
- Collaborate closely with Product, Communications, Customer Experience, and Executive Leadership to embed brand thinking across the organization
- Leverage brand health metrics, market research, and cultural intelligence to guide strategic decision-making and present performance insights to executive leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global brand and creative team and promote creative experimentation
- Explore and identify ways to leverage AI and emerging platforms to increase creative effectiveness and streamline workflows
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 14+ years of progressive experience in global brand strategy, marketing, and creative leadership within high-growth or Fortune 500 organizations
- 7+ years in senior leadership roles managing multidisciplinary brand, design, and creative teams
- Demonstrated success driving brand transformation and leading large-scale global brand campaigns with quantifiable impact
- Expertise in brand positioning, narrative development, identity systems, tone of voice, and integrated marketing strategy
- Strong executive presence and influence; ability to align diverse stakeholders and present confidently at the C-level
- Deep understanding of consumer research, brand health tracking, and campaign analytics
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and culture; demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technology to elevate brand effectiveness and efficiency
- Experience in fintech, technology, lifestyle, or other consumer-driven global industries strongly preferred
- Ability to negotiate with and influence senior internal and external executives and decision-makers
- Experience building, leading, and mentoring global brand and creative teams
