About the role

  • Act as the primary HR Business Partner for North America, supporting leaders across both Toronto and US-based teams
  • Own and manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including investigations, performance issues, terminations, and risk mitigation
  • Provide expert guidance on US and Canadian employment law, ensuring compliance and best practices across the region
  • Partner with leaders to drive performance management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness
  • Support and execute organizational changes, including restructures, workforce planning, and team design
  • Coach managers on people-related matters, including performance, development, and team dynamics
  • Strengthen and scale People Operations processes, ensuring consistency and a positive employee experience
  • Partner with Finance and leadership on headcount planning, workforce insights, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with global HR counterparts across EMEA and APAC to align on processes and initiatives
  • Support and guide more junior team members or coordinators as needed across HR operations

Requirements

  • Solid experience in HR/People roles, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner
  • Strong employee relations experience, with confidence managing complex and sensitive cases independently
  • Deep knowledge of US and Canadian employment law
  • Proven ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience partnering with business leaders to drive performance, engagement, and organizational change
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in global or multi-region environments is preferred
  • Proactive, resilient, and comfortable taking ownership in a lean team environment
