About the role
- Manage and are accountable for multiple complex research programs (I.e, entire PA, internal programs, high profile launches etc.).
- Navigate ambiguity and uncertainty where the expectations of you and the team were unclear, and produce high-quality research with deep user insights and clearly articulated user needs, pain points, opportunities, and constraints which have an impact on the company.
- Foster a company-wide culture of research and learning that inspires innovation and effective product development.
- Own the end-to-end research process, ensuring ethical practices and impactful deliverables.
- Report to the Head of Research and partner with Product, Product Design, Engineering, Data Science, People, and GTM Leadership to define the most important research questions, develop a clear POV on key insights, and use those insights to drive business objectives.
- Look around corners, identify patterns, and connect dots to inspire a broader vision for Patreon’s future.
- Influence strategy and align the organization by clearly and confidently presenting complex concepts to leadership and the broader organization, helping to sustain an informed and empathetic organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
- Experience leveraging a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis techniques in disciplinary environments.
- Product research experience with 0-to-1 product development.
- Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- Experience in the content creation or entertainment space.
- 7 years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 5 years of experience managing projects, and working in a matrixed organization.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence to conduct and scale research practices.
- Startup experience with passion for working with emerging products.
