About the role

  • Lead development and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure, applications, and data.
  • Manage and execute regular testing—drills, table-top, and failover simulations—to validate plan effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recovery impact analyses to identify critical vulnerabilities; mitigate strategies and updates to DR procedures.
  • Serve as the central liaison between DT, business units, and external vendors to ensure DR plans meet organizational needs and technical realities.
  • Oversee documentation, training, and awareness initiatives so staff are prepared and plans are actionable during a crisis.
  • Develop and present dashboards and reports on DR status, test results, and continuous improvement metrics to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of IT experience, with at least 4 in Disaster Recovery planning, execution, and operations within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
  • Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end disaster recovery testing for both applications and infrastructure, including planning, coordination, execution, and post-test analysis.
  • Hands-on experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to assess critical business functions, define recovery objectives, and support continuity planning.
  • Professional certifications such as CBCP, ABCP, DRI - CBCP, CBRITP, or PMP.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based recovery (e.g., AWS), virtualization, high-availability architectures, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with experience presenting to executives and leading training programs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience with disaster recovery or business continuity tools such as BCIC or similar platforms.
