About the role
- Lead development and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Manage and execute regular testing—drills, table-top, and failover simulations—to validate plan effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments and recovery impact analyses to identify critical vulnerabilities; mitigate strategies and updates to DR procedures.
- Serve as the central liaison between DT, business units, and external vendors to ensure DR plans meet organizational needs and technical realities.
- Oversee documentation, training, and awareness initiatives so staff are prepared and plans are actionable during a crisis.
- Develop and present dashboards and reports on DR status, test results, and continuous improvement metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Six (6) or more years of IT experience, with at least 4 in Disaster Recovery planning, execution, and operations within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
- Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end disaster recovery testing for both applications and infrastructure, including planning, coordination, execution, and post-test analysis.
- Hands-on experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to assess critical business functions, define recovery objectives, and support continuity planning.
- Professional certifications such as CBCP, ABCP, DRI - CBCP, CBRITP, or PMP.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based recovery (e.g., AWS), virtualization, high-availability architectures, and ITIL frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with experience presenting to executives and leading training programs.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience with disaster recovery or business continuity tools such as BCIC or similar platforms.
