About the role
- Support standardization and integration of industrial controls systems in Robotics R&D Laboratory
- Collaborate with research and software engineers to investigate, analyze and resolve quality issues
- Conduct audits, analyze defect trends, and lead continuous improvement projects
- Support internal engineering teams by troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems for demos and development
- Test experimental hardware alongside engineering teams and researchers
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of industry-standard safety practices
- Generate documentation for standardized installation and commissioning procedures for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components
- Collaborate with machine learning, software, sales, and support teams to ensure high communication and cooperation
- Schedule and perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment including robots and control systems
- Create and maintain detailed records of issue resolution, log events during repair workflow, and account for parts consumed
Requirements
- 2-5 years experience in maintenance, electronic installation, or service work in a related industry
- Military experience as an electrical/mechanical MOS preferred
- Experience in reading electrical schematics, mechanical schematics and the software used to read them
- Must have provable electrical experience
- Experience in basic Solidworks use
- Experience fabricating with industrial machinery
- Practical hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn in a small team-based environment
- Able to interface comfortably and effectively both internally and externally at all levels
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required (we do sponsor H1B transfer)
- Willingness to move to the SF Bay Area
- Bonus: Electrical knowledge in controls (relays, contacts, switches)
- Bonus: Implemented systems with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Ethercat
- Bonus: Experience working with PLCs (Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon) configuring, developing, and validating PLC Code
