About the role
- Manage the Administrative Services Section and direct the activities of professional, technical, and support staff who provide centralized support for Oregon OSHA staff located throughout the state
- Developing and monitoring the division’s biennial budget of approximately $61 million and federal grant applications in excess of $11 million
- Providing fiscal administration to ensure the availability of resources to carry out Oregon OSHA’s mission
- Assisting the administrator by formulating policy recommendations and setting the direction for the division
Requirements
- Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience OR Three years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships through effective communication
- Extensive expertise in budgeting including: budget development, adjustment, forecasting, implementation, training of budget staff and grant preparation
- Skilled in supervising, including: planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished, the capabilities of subordinates and available resources; controlling work through periodic reviews and/or evaluations, determining subordinates' training needs and arranging for such training; motivating subordinates to work effectively; determining the need for disciplinary action and either recommending or initiating disciplinary action is required
- Knowledge of public procurement practices and processes; and/or knowledge of governmental contracting laws, rules, and policies
- Experience communicating technical IT-related issues to users with various levels of IT knowledge.
