About the role

  • Support OpenAI research, product, engineering, privacy, and security teams in the development and release of cutting-edge AI products and services
  • Anticipate and address privacy, regulatory, product, and other legal risks
  • Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative ways and build scalable, flexible processes to manage risk
  • Help build and improve processes for scaling our privacy program as the company grows
  • Become an expert in AI privacy matters and help propose and advance AI legal policy positions

Requirements

  • Bring at least 6+ years of legal experience, with a mix of in-house and technology-focused law firm roles
  • Hold a JD and are licensed or qualified to practice in California
  • Provide strategic privacy counsel on complex and emerging technologies in fast-paced environments
  • Show a strong sense of ownership, are inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Excel in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Take a collaborative and proactive approach, with a track record of working effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Stay ahead of an evolving global regulatory landscape and adapt quickly.
