💰 $190,000 - $280,000 per year
About the role
- Develop policy and manage relationships with national security and law enforcement stakeholders across the U.S. government
- Collaborate closely with the Global Affairs team and other parts of the company (legal, safety, communications)
- Communicate with U.S. government representatives and represent OpenAI at convenings and events
- Develop and implement engagement strategies on pressing policy issues
- Prepare company leaders to represent OpenAI at events
- Coordinate and facilitate complex collaborative projects among many stakeholders
- Execute rapid cycles of analysis, decision, and action in a fast-changing environment
- May require frequent travel to meet with key stakeholders; relocation assistance offered
Requirements
- Experience building and cultivating relationships with national security stakeholders
- Established network and credibility with national security stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal government rules, institutions and processes, and of the key policy issues and debates related to AI
- Understanding of how technology-related policy gets made
- Experience working in government (highly desirable)
- Understanding technology-related regulation (highly desirable)
- Technical skills relating to generative AI models (highly desirable)
- Proven skills coordinating and facilitating multi-stakeholder collaboration
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Sound judgment and outstanding personal integrity
- Track record of effectively working with cross-functional teams and aligning diverse internal and external partners
- Willingness to travel frequently to meet key stakeholders
- Ability to move fast and collaborate on complex issues in a changing environment
- Ability to work from US office three days per week
