About the role

  • Define, implement, and promote best practices and standards in software engineering
  • Evaluate and enhance existing software engineering processes to maximize productivity, minimize waste, and streamline workflows.
  • Develop and lead training programs, workshops, and mentoring sessions aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of engineering teams.
  • Shape, track, manage the top level critical metrics (Key Performance Indicators) and goals and achievements (Objectives Key Results) to drive performance across the organization and lead initiatives to continuously improve product quality and development efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to ensure that engineering practices support business objectives.
  • Manage vendor contract management and performance monitoring against contracts.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and tools, advocating for the adoption of modern technologies and practices that drive engineering excellence.
  • Own and lead project management on operations & data related projects.
  • Manage the coordination and logistics for upskilling across J&J MedTech.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Software Engineering, Biotechnology or other related subject area).
  • 10+ years of experience in the software industry.
  • 8+ years of experience in leadership roles managing both employees and contractors.
  • Experience in leading software solutions delivery with internal and outsourced resources.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and presentation abilities, with comfort presenting to all management levels within an organization.
  • Significant experience developing, tracking, and managing key metrics to deliver business and financial targets.
  • Experience working in and successfully navigating complex and matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Strategic attitude with ability to execute/implement tactical details.
