About the role
- Design, build, and operate a secure and scalable Kubernetes-based platform across cloud and/or on-prem environments
- Own the full containerization lifecycle, including Docker image creation, optimization, registry management, and security best practices
- Provision and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and production stability
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Kubernetes resources (Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets)
- Design and maintain Helm charts for standardized, repeatable deployments
- Implement and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and cluster security hardening standards
- Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized workloads using modern automation and GitOps practices
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure reproducible and reliable infrastructure provisioning
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cluster, networking, and application performance issues
- Implement observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks
- Drive incident response and root cause analysis for production environments
- Collaborate closely with Development, QA, Security, and Operations teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and platform best practices
Requirements
- Strong understanding of containerization concepts (images, layers, registries, networking)
- Hands-on experience with Docker, including writing and optimizing Dockerfiles
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and core components
- Proven experience provisioning and managing Kubernetes clusters (cloud or on-prem)
- Experience with managed Kubernetes services such as Amazon EKS, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Azure Kubernetes Service
- Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs, load balancers, DNS)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
- Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Flux)
- Experience implementing monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security hardening, network policies, secrets management, and container runtime security
- Solid Linux system administration skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, C#, Bash, or similar)
- Experience writing automation scripts and integrating APIs
- Systems thinking and troubleshooting mindset
- Clear documentation practices
- Cross-team collaboration (Dev, QA, Security, Ops)
- Ownership of infrastructure reliability
- Confident English proficiency, both written and spoken.
