About the role
- Serve as lead project manager on Railroad Bridge team, ensuring successful deliverables and completion for complex and high-priority projects
- Provide project management direction to the team and ensure quality execution of key projects
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets and track progress to manage the financial success of projects
- Manage complex contract negotiations
- Assemble and manage project teams, coordinate internal resources, and assign responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison between all parties involved in a project
- Monitor progress and measure project performance to ensure deliverables fall within scope, schedule, and budget
- Manage change requests, execute risk management techniques, and implement strategies to minimize negative financial impact
- Coordinate detailed reviews of technical work to ensure quality and contract compliance
- Maintain ongoing positive relationships with clients and focus on exceptional client service
- Document all project deliverables and maintain comprehensive records
- Mentor staff on project management best practices and utilize Olsson Project Management programs
- Adhere to regulations and enforce safety standards
Requirements
- Connectivity and prior experience working with CSX / CPKC
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate Degree with equivalent experience is required)
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience supporting railroad projects for CSX / CPKC
- Proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through project management activities
- Excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills
- Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems
- High-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred
- Experience in MicroStation, Risa 3D analysis, and Bluebeam Revu
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving history
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required
