About the role

  • Serve as lead project manager on Railroad Bridge team, ensuring successful deliverables and completion for complex and high-priority projects
  • Provide project management direction to the team and ensure quality execution of key projects
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets and track progress to manage the financial success of projects
  • Manage complex contract negotiations
  • Assemble and manage project teams, coordinate internal resources, and assign responsibilities
  • Serve as primary liaison between all parties involved in a project
  • Monitor progress and measure project performance to ensure deliverables fall within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Manage change requests, execute risk management techniques, and implement strategies to minimize negative financial impact
  • Coordinate detailed reviews of technical work to ensure quality and contract compliance
  • Maintain ongoing positive relationships with clients and focus on exceptional client service
  • Document all project deliverables and maintain comprehensive records
  • Mentor staff on project management best practices and utilize Olsson Project Management programs
  • Adhere to regulations and enforce safety standards

Requirements

  • Connectivity and prior experience working with CSX / CPKC
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate Degree with equivalent experience is required)
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience supporting railroad projects for CSX / CPKC
  • Proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through project management activities
  • Excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems
  • High-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred
  • Experience in MicroStation, Risa 3D analysis, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving history
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required
