Solutions Engineer

• Work alongside the sales team as the technical and domain expert of a customer-facing sales team to help Customers understand the value of Okta’s solutions.
• Understand customer challenges and business issues and provide product demonstrations to align our solutions with customer needs.
• Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners and Okta colleagues.
• Plan and deliver Proof Of Concepts for customers who have more complex use cases, collaborating with other Okta engineering teams as needed.
• Provide feedback to product management about product enhancements that can address customer needs and provide additional value.
• Share and learn best practices and re-usable assets with other Solutions Engineers to enhance the quality and efficiency of the team.
• Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation.
• Support marketing events including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
• At times, be asked to learn and lead your team as a subject matter expert (SME) with various product solutions and/or competitive knowledge.

Senior Solutions Engineer

• Involved in all stages of the customer’s development lifecycle; build sales presentations and product demonstrations and educate customers from developers to C-level executives
• Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies to maximize the Okta opportunity
• Conduct research and discovery to understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technology problems using cloud technology
• Execute delivery of POCs for customers with complex use cases, collaborating with other Okta engineering teams as needed
• Craft technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or standard methodologies
• Prepare and deliver demos to showcase how the Okta platform meets customer business needs and use cases
• Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales
• Advise SLED customers on what is possible using Okta’s Identity Platform

Senior Solutions Engineer – SLED

• Partner with the sales team to educate customers on Okta’s identity solutions and demonstrate their value.
• Understand customer needs and provide tailored product demonstrations to show how our solutions can solve their business problems.
• Answer product and technical questions, and plan and deliver complex Proofs of Concept (POCs) by collaborating with other Okta engineering teams.
• Share customer feedback with product teams to influence future enhancements and contribute to the team\'s knowledge by sharing best practices and reusable assets.
• Keep up with competitive analysis and market differentiation to better position Okta.
• Represent Okta at marketing events, including conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
• Report to the Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering and achieve quarterly and annual sales goals for an assigned territory.
