About the role
- Assist attorneys in the discovery process, including drafting responses to interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and other written discovery requests
- Support legal team by requesting, analyzing, and summarizing client documents, records, and reports; prepare chronologies and timelines
- Prepare and serve subpoenas for business records and depositions
- Investigate claims and allegations, including interviewing witnesses, preparing statements, and gathering facts, documents, and evidence
- Assist attorneys with information and documents in preparation for motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trials
- Organize and prepare document productions and analyze key documents
- Compile data and prepare calculations related to Class and PAGA damage claims
- Conduct legal research for motion practice, hearings, and trials
- Conduct research and compile information for retention of, and consultation with, experts
- Overall case planning, development, and management; perform other case duties as assigned
Requirements
- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited and approved paralegal education program
- 5+ years of experience (Paralegal)
- Experience in labor and employment litigation
- Very strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and MS Office (including Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and with a team
