About the role
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of site turnaround programs, ensuring adherence to Nutrien’s Turnaround Management Process
- Coach, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices and optimize turnaround strategies
- Support planning, scope development, resource allocation, schedule management, and milestone achievement to ensure readiness and efficient execution
- Guide cost optimization measures, minimize turnaround duration, and support development of strategies to reduce operational downtime
- Facilitate effective stakeholder communication, ensuring all parties are kept informed on turnaround plans, progress, and changes
- Oversee resource management to ensure timely availability and allocation of people, equipment, materials, and contractors
- Identify, assess, and mitigate turnaround risks, develop contingency plans, and continually enhance procedures based on lessons learned
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of turnaround plans, progress, issues, and solutions, maintaining records for analysis and improvement
- Deliver training to site personnel on turnaround processes and best practices, fostering continuous learning and site readiness
- Align turnaround objectives with overall site and organizational business goals to support operational excellence and profitability
- Lead and support collaboration across engineering, maintenance, operations, and procurement teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Trades Certification, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- 10+ years’ experience in turnaround program management, implementation, and development
- Strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of ammonia/urea/petrochemical/refinery operations and maintenance
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and reliability drivers in turnarounds
- Proven expertise with budgeting, scheduling, and the use of systems such as Oracle, SAP, Primavera, and MS Office
- Strong knowledge of project management skills and a strategic approach to continuous improvement
- Ability to travel and operate effectively at remote site locations
