About the role
- Generating, interpreting, and communicating scientific data to support the clinical importance of new findings and their impact on diabetes treatment.
- Delivering timely, accurate, and credible scientific medical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing cross-organisational collaboration with R&D, MMA, GS, affiliates, and other key teams.
- Developing and implementing global medical affairs strategies, including publication and communication strategies.
- Leading and coaching a team of Global Medical Managers and Associate Directors, Publication and Project Managers, fostering a culture of continuous development.
- Overseeing clinical activities, including trial design, protocol development, and evaluation of clinical trial proposals.
- Engaging with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to build and execute healthcare professional strategies and scientific communication.
- Driving strategic publication planning and ensuring high-quality, timely publication of key data milestones.
- Leading global medical education initiatives to ensure recognition and understanding of clinical profiles.
- Providing internal medical guidance to align business activities with medical strategies and newly generated scientific data.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD); PhD and/or specialist degree preferred.
- Strong clinical and/or research background in diabetes mellitus, with a demonstrated interest in advanced scientific analysis, communication and drug development.
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience in clinical practice and/or the pharmaceutical industry, including clinical research and development.
- Additional education or experience in pharmaceutical business, medical affairs or marketing is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work in international and cross‑functional settings; experience in an international matrix organization is preferred.
- Three or more years of study or work experience in a country or affiliate other than your native country is desirable.
- Excellent presentation, networking and communication skills; fluent in spoken and written English.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a willingness to coach and develop colleagues; ability to achieve results through others.
- Able to manage complex tasks and organisational issues while influencing industry from a medical perspective.
