About the role
- Lead a team of engineers to build and improve search experience
- Guide work on search ranking algorithms, query understanding, AI-powered connector search
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional peers to set the direction of the team
- Facilitate planning—the prioritization, sequencing, and staffing of work
- Maintain a high-quality bar for everything the team builds
- Drive project execution, using data to make decisions about prioritization and impact
- Shape engineering organization practices including technical practices, recruiting and onboarding strategy
Requirements
- Experience managing engineering teams working on search, ranking, relevance, or related areas
- Deep understanding of high-quality search experiences at scale
- Background in search quality, ranking algorithms, and experimentation methodologies
- Understanding that search is mission-critical infrastructure
- Familiarity with AI-powered search, modern embedding models, hybrid lexical-semantic search architectures
