About the role
- Perform DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages) reporting and management
- Evaluate engineering design concepts for digital, analog, and harness designs
- Use tools such as Silicon Expert, IHS (Accuris), and GIDEP to assess components and supply risks
- Calculate MTBF (Mean time between failure) for components
- Select parts to meet reliability, corrosion, metal whisker, and safety-related requirements
- Generate basis of estimates and communicate findings to customers and management
- Collaborate with engineering and program teams to mitigate obsolescence and material shortages
- Support travel to customer or supplier sites as required (~10%)
- Obtain and maintain Government DoD Secret security clearance
Requirements
- BS and 2+ years of experience, or MS and 0 years of experience in Digital, Analog and Harness designs (Level 2)
- BS and 5+ years of experience, or MS and 3+ years of experience in Digital, Analog and Harness designs (Level 3)
- Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages (DMSMS) reporting
- Experience using Silicon Expert, IHS (former of Accuris), and GIDEP tools
- Experience calculating MTBF (Mean time between failure)
- Ability to obtain a Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Current/Active DoD Secret Clearance (preferred)
- Basis of estimate generation experience (preferred)
- Ability to communicate findings to customers and management (preferred)
- Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks in some direction (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with innovative, "out of the box" ideas (preferred)
- Experience selecting parts to meet reliability, corrosion, metal whisker, and safety-related requirements (preferred)
- Familiarity with NAS411 Hazardous Materials Target List Standard Practice (preferred)
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
- Willingness to travel: Yes, 10% of the time
