About the role
- Provide personal safety for all persons on hospital premises
- Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism; inspect doors, windows, and locks; document security breaches
- Ensure only authorized personnel are on hospital grounds and unlock doors for authorized personnel
- Escort visitors, patients, and employees to and from buildings and parking areas
- Respond promptly to Code Red and disaster alerts; respond immediately to appropriate locations and carry out department procedures
- Act as liaison with Flagstaff Fire and Police Departments and other outside law enforcement and emergency agencies
- Accept patient valuables and lost and found items; maintain accurate documentation of valuables and lost and found locker
- Investigate unusual circumstances and complete Security Incident Reports and logs accurately
- Report safety and fire hazards observed on patrols and maintain documentation of fire and disaster responses
- Report safety-related incidents through the Midas/RDE tool and complete mandatory and job-specific training
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED - Preferred
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with no moving violations within the prior 39 months - Required upon hire
- Fingerprint Clearance Card application number - Required upon hire
- Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required within 90 days of hire
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification - Required within 3 months from date of hire
- IAHSS (International Association of Hospital Safety and Security) certification - Required within 3 months from date of hire
- AVADE certification - Required within 3 months from date of hire
- Some background in law enforcement, security, or military - Preferred
- Taser certification - Preferred
- Competence using computers and basic software programs
