About the role
- Prepare reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, including corporate cash and investments
- Prepare bank and other account reconciliations and analyses; perform monthly bank account reconciliations
- Perform billing for NAH leases and other contracts
- Provide accounting information and assistance to department staff and management; answer questions
- Support Financial Operations with research, document control, and the Corporate credit card system
- Assist Cash Desk with preparing daily bank deposits and reconciliations
- Report abnormal variances in account activity to Accounting Manager and Controller
- Compile, prepare and post monthly general journal entries and other adjustments
- Prepare and distribute interim and annual financial statements for the corporation and its entities
- Review draft financial statements and trend reports; assist with unusual trends or problem areas
- Prepare and analyze operating ledgers and financial reports
- Prepare audit work papers and cooperate with external auditors; assist in preparing Form 990 information returns
- Assist in preparation of Medicare Cost Report, Uniform Accounting Report, finance-related surveys, grant applications, and ad hoc projects
- Comply with state and federal regulations, company policies, safety reporting, and required certifications/training
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Mathematics - Required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Accounting/Finance experience - Required
- MS Excel skills - Required
- Previous healthcare experience - Preferred
- Experience working in an integrated care delivery system (IDS) - Preferred
- Understanding of computers and competence in using basic software programs
- Ability to complete company mandatory modules and job-specific training within required time frame
