Reporting to the Associate Director for Pre-Award Administration in the College of Engineering’s Administrative Resource Center (ARC)
Provide Pre-Award support to a designated portfolio of faculty with complex, diversified research activities
Review federal agency and foundation solicitations, fellowships, and corporate contracts and interpret sponsor requirements to ensure compliance
Provide administrative support for proposal preparation and development, including creating budgets and budget justifications
Ensure timely submission of proposals and completion of proposal records in the ePaws system
Negotiate and facilitate time-sensitive requests in the award-making process
Maintain records and proposal trackers; ensure proposal files are complete and organized in network folders and ePaws
Draft and update proposal submission procedures; contribute to COE Pre-Award manual and best practice documents
Train staff on proposal procedures and proposal management software
Partner with ARC Pre-Award team members to review proposals and serve as backup as needed
Participate in outreach and professional development to educate faculty and improve proposal success rates
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or business administration
3-5 years of experience in grant administration in an academic environment
Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations and experience in managing compliance and interpreting and applying university and sponsor policies and procedures
Experience with ePaws, electronic grants administration and submission systems such as grans.gov, ASSIST, eRA commons, FastLane - Research.gov, and similar systems
Knowledge of federal/university guidelines, policies and procedures
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a high volume, deadline driven environment
Strong analytical, computer and interpersonal skills
