About the role
- Mastery of supported products from low-level implementation to application-level behavior
- Represent and speak on behalf of products in technical discussions
- Debug complex product installations and resolve complicated product problems
- Maintain problem status and resolution records
- Prepare reports on problems encountered and methods of resolution
- Maintain awareness of new features and releases through updates with R&D and Product Management
- Provide technical and sales support for Test and Evaluations, New Product Introductions, Network Architectures
- Develop internal/external web tools and scripts and conduct customer-specific workshops
- Coordinate upgrade programs, write technical application notes and field alerts
- Provide emergency cell phone support to customers globally 24/7
- Work with latest beta releases to deliver deep product knowledge to internal technical and sales teams
- Co-develop and provide new release workshops to internal support and sales teams
- Travel may be required (10% of the year)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to drive customer calls
- Strong analytical and hands-on experience in troubleshooting software or network problems
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work with diverse people across multiple time zones and continents
- 5+ years of working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP)
- 5+ years of working knowledge of IP/MPLS Protocols including LDP, RSVP and Segment Routing
- 5+ years of working knowledge of IP/MPLS Services (VLL, VPLS, VPRN, IP Tunnels, EVPN)
- 5+ years of working knowledge of IPSec
- 5+ years of working knowledge of Broadband and WiFi aggregation (BNG/BRAS/WLAN-GW, CGNAT)
- 5+ years of working knowledge of Quality of Service (QoS)
- 5+ years of working knowledge of Multicast services and traffic delivery
- 5+ years of working knowledge of IPv6
- 5+ years of experience using Test Equipment for IP (IXIA, Spirent, etc)
- Expertise in cloud solutions (Linux, KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes) and automation/scripting for network management
- Strong background in IPSec, QoS, Multicast services, IPv6, WiFi/Broadband aggregation
- Skilled in using test equipment (IXIA, Spirent), troubleshooting Nokia 7750 SR/MAG-c/MAG-u, and working with Nokia data center solutions
- Certifications (nice to have): SRC, CCNA/CCNP, and/or JNCIA/JNCIS
- Experience with Nokia products (e.g. 7950XRS, 7750SR, 7450ESS, 7250 IXR, VSR)
- Experience with scripting languages such as XML and Python
- Experience operating VM environments and servers (ESXi and KVM)
- Extensive knowledge of 4G/5G packet core, CUPS architecture, and call flows (SMF, UFP, AMF, NRF)
