About the role
- Define target state architectures (business, information, application, technology) for key domains including ERP, data platforms, and IPMS; maintain living roadmaps that connect strategy to execution.
- Lead architecture governance: establish standards, design patterns, quality gates, and review processes (including code review practices) to ensure solution integrity in multi‑vendor environments.
- Drive ERP sourcing and modernization: contribute to vendor selection, RFP criteria, architectural due diligence, and transition architectures; ensure fit‑for‑purpose integrations and data contracts.
- Model enterprise data: create domain models, canonical data definitions, and governance processes that improve data quality, lineage, and analytics readiness.
- Architect integrations: design API‑centric and event‑driven architectures; select/guide middleware tooling; ensure secure, resilient inter‑system flows across cloud environments.
- Steer custom software design: guide solution architects and teams on non‑functional requirements, reliability/SRE practices, CI/CD and DevSecOps; review designs and code for adherence to standards.
- Partner with IPMS leaders: shape the next‑gen IPMS architecture that is modular and process‑driven; ensure interoperability with ERP, document management, analytics, and external IP systems.
- Engage senior stakeholders: present architectural options and trade‑offs to top management; provide clear narratives linking technology choices to business value, risk, and cost.
- Develop vendor collaboration: align partners to Nokia’s architectural guardrails; negotiate technical compromises; ensure clear SLAs and accountability across a multi‑vendor delivery model.
- Learn continuously: deepen expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, patenting domain workflows, and modern cloud/AI patterns.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience leading complex, enterprise‑level software implementation projects, coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing scope, and ensuring architectural integrity throughout execution.
- Strong capability in requirements engineering—from high‑level business needs to precise, actionable implementation tickets that guide development teams effectively.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture management, including the ability to visualize, communicate, and govern target architectures using tools such as Sparx EA, ArchiMate, and other architecture modeling standards.
- Extensive hands‑on experience across multiple programming languages and platforms, e.g. Java, .NET, Python, and C#, with deep understanding of how custom software solutions are structured and maintained.
- Solid experience designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure, including platform services, scalability considerations, security patterns, and operational best practices.
- Strong integration and data‑flow expertise, including Azure SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and end‑to‑end data pipeline design.
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code skills, for example using frameworks such as Bicep, ensuring consistent, automated, and secure cloud environment provisioning.
- Experience in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support high‑quality information architecture and downstream analytics.
- Hands‑on experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) and their integration with broader enterprise workflows and platforms.
- Wide knowledge of ERP ecosystems, including CRM, DMS, and related components, with clear understanding of their interdependencies and data flows.
- Experience running competitive vendor selection processes for custom software development, including evaluating proposals, assessing technical fit, and ensuring alignment with architectural and delivery standards.
- Experience working with established IT governance and delivery frameworks such as ITIL and PRINCE2, applying structured service‑management and project‑management practices to ensure reliability, quality, and predictability in enterprise‑level initiatives.
- Experience working with Salesforce, including architecture considerations, integration patterns, and cross‑system data synchronization.
- Experience working in multi‑vendor environments when developing custom software - coordinating architecture, ensuring consistent standards, and balancing responsibilities between internal teams and external partners.
- Experience collaborating with and guiding service‑design and UX professionals, ensuring that architectural decisions support high‑quality user journeys and coherent end‑to‑end processes across systems.
- Experience working with patenting systems, including exposure to IPMS environments and the technical/operational considerations of managing patent‑related data and workflows.
- Understanding of patenting workflows, such as invention submission, prior‑art handling, prosecution steps, and the interdependencies between patenting data, document management, and analytics.
- Knowledge of commercial ERP systems, including how their CRM, DMS, finance, and workflow components integrate with surrounding enterprise platforms.
- Experience ensuring that legislative and regulatory requirements are fully incorporated into enterprise‑system development - particularly in regulated domains where compliance, data protection, auditability, and statutory IP processes must be embedded into the system’s architecture and implementation practices.
