About the role
- Lead the centralized procurement function, ensuring purchases are strategic, efficient, and support institutional objectives.
- Report to the CFO within Accounting & Finance and partner with the CFO and leaders to align procurement with institutional goals and budgets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance.
- Partner with IT to procure hardware, software, and technology services, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, cybersecurity standards, and vendor compliance.
- Lead sourcing efforts including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations to identify and secure the best value, quality, and service.
- Manage the centralized vendor database and ensure suppliers meet compliance requirements and performance standards.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define procurement needs, refine requirements, and set realistic timelines.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing and manage contract renewals.
- Monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, IT, and other functions to integrate procurement processes with enterprise systems and reporting tools.
- Ensure readiness for audits through complete and accurate procurement documentation.
- Support and mentor procurement staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
- MBA or procurement-related certification (CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience.
- 3+ years leading procurement or strategic sourcing teams in a dynamic or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes (e.g., sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract management, procure-to-pay).
- All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
