Backend Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power mod delivery, installation, publishing, and creator dashboards.
• Ensure services are performant, reliable, and secure at scale (tens of millions of users).
• Collaborate with Frontend, App, and DevOps Engineers in your pod to deliver end-to-end features.
• Contribute to product discovery by prototyping APIs, validating technical feasibility, and surfacing trade-offs early.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Set and maintain high standards and process: tests, CI/CD, documentation.
• Help mentor other engineers and contribute to shared standards across pods.

Senior Backend Engineer

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for premium features, creator tools, marketing integrations, and user growth systems.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Digital Marketing teams to understand requirements and deliver features that support commercial goals.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Ensure backend services remain secure, performant, and scalable.
• Contribute to product discovery by participating in ideation, providing technical input, and helping validate feasibility.
• Follow engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, documentation, observability.
• Collaborate with other Engineers and share learnings across pods.

Frontend Engineer

• Build and maintain frontend features and components across Nexus Mods’ web and desktop experiences.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, Backend Engineers within your pod to deliver end to end features.
• Implement responsive, accessible UI that works seamlessly across a wide range of devices and browsers.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and help share efficient data flows.
• Ensure the frontend is performant, reliable, and well-tested.
• Participate in product delivery by providing technical input, contributing to prototypes, and helping evaluate trade-offs.
• Follow frontend best practices around testing, documentation, code quality, and CI/CD workflows.

Product Manager

• Working with key stakeholders to deliver features that support commercial goals, and help us to achieve our vision of ‘Making Modding Easy.’
• Be responsible for identifying, qualifying and prioritising user and business needs; effectively translating these into a clear, concise and well organised roadmap, set of milestones and backlog of user stories.
• Design and execute experiments locally and globally, to test product positioning, customer channels, and growth and revenue levers.
• Championing the product vision, working with cross-functional project teams, including Engineers, Designers and Community Managers.
• Working collaboratively with the teams, effectively and clearly communicating business value and involving them in strategy and decision making.
• Working closely with the project team leads, to define requirements, quality criteria and support with the delivery of strategy.
• Making data driven decisions utilising customer research, behavioural, product, and commercial data.
• Progressing ideas from discovery through to delivery.
• Identifying processes for improvement and taking ownership of improving these as well as identifying opportunities to implement new ones.
• Working with everyone at Nexus Mods to shape the future of our platform.

Product Designer

• Work on end to end designs for growth initiatives across our ecosystem, including desktop and app experiences.
• Conduct research and analyse data to uncover friction points and opportunities across our users lifecycle.
• Design and iterate experiments to improve activation, engagement and retention.
• Collaborate cross functionally with Product Management, Engineering and Community to define hypotheses and measure impact.
• Work quickly to produce prototypes ranging from low-fidelity flows and wireframes to high-fidelity, interactive UI designs. The ability to prototype using code is a bonus.
• Develop and refine design systems to ensure consistency as features evolve.
• Advocate for accessibility and usability, especially for new or upcoming modding users.
• Engage with the modding community to understand creator and user needs, motivations and pain points.

Full-stack Engineer

• - Security & Supportability: Upgrade to a supported Ruby/Rails version, update dependencies, and ensure all libraries are actively maintained,
• - Performance & Reliability: Enhance caching, background processing, and database performance, define and introduce SLOs and key metrics.
• - Developer Velocity: Implement a modern development environment (DevSpace/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and static analysis to improve iteration speed.
• - UX/Frontend Modernization: Refresh the frontend styling pipeline and modernise JS/CSS tooling for safer, faster asset delivery.
• - Observability: Standardise logging, metrics, and tracing with actionable dashboards and alerts.

Senior Software Engineer

DevOps Engineer

• Manage and optimize globally distributed infrastructure, including a custom CDN and cloud-based platforms.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and recovery using modern orchestration tools.
• Implement and monitor observability solutions to ensure performance, uptime, and reliability.
• Design, build and maintain internal tooling for the business relating to metrics, moderation, and authentication.
• Design, build and maintain deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for our applications and services.
• Collaborate with developers to deliver new features securely and efficiently.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security, performance, and operational practices.
• Ensure the platform adheres to company policies and meets all regulatory requirements.
