About the role
- Allocate, edit and send pages ready for publication on flagship regional titles (The Northern Echo, York Press, Telegraph & Argus)
- Edit and design pages across Newsquest daily and weekly titles within the North of England print production hub
- Work on front pages to ensure they stand out on newsstands
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with rota-based early, late and weekend shifts
- Split role between working in regional offices and home-based working
- Report to Gavin Foster
Requirements
- Outstanding trainee, ideally with NCTJ prelims (including law)
- Versed in editing copy
- Willing to develop design skills to work on front pages
- Flexible for early, late, and weekend work on a rota basis
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work both in regional offices and home-based (hybrid)
- Able to allocate, edit and send pages ready for publication
- Interest in working on regional daily and weekly titles (e.g., The Northern Echo, York Press, Telegraph & Argus)
