About the role
- Join Newsela's User Management team focused on core identity and onboarding systems
- Optimize user sign-up and account setup flows to improve conversion and reduce friction
- Ensure data integrity by collaborating with data team to produce clean, reliable analytics data
- Partner with engineering to define requirements and prioritize backlog for identity, access, and management systems
- Own back-office tooling for Customer Support and Integrations teams, discovering pain points and building solutions
- Translate product strategy into detailed user stories and work hands-on with engineering to launch
- Report to a Principal Product Manager and receive mentorship and coaching
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in product management or a related role such as business analyst, product operations, project management, or software engineering
- Strong desire to work on technical products; excited by system architecture, APIs, and complex data flows
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a highly analytical mindset
- User empathy for varied users (teachers, support agents)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bias for action and passion for learning and growing in product management
- Bonus points: Experience with identity and authentication systems (SSO, OAuth, Rostering)
- Bonus points: Familiarity with API-driven products or software integrations
- Bonus points: Previous experience in the EdTech industry
