About the role
- Solicit colleges & universities, county and local transit agencies, hotels/motels and any other commercial bus operator.
- Actively “cold call” accounts.
- Consult with the Director of Sales and Sales Manager to devise pricing strategies based on market conditions.
- Demonstrate products directly to customers at their locations.
- Participate in all appropriate sales and product training as directed by the Sales Manager or Director of Sales.
- Attend all necessary trade shows and events to grow our market share.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a bus, specialty vehicle or commercial truck sales environment.
- Obtain and understand technical information and possess sufficient knowledge to identify, document and correct any sales issue.
- Ability to travel throughout territory.
- Exhibit good organizational skills and detailed record keeping (attention to detail is critical).
- Meet reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, accomplishing the goals of the position.
- Demonstrate the ability to accomplish multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability and property damage insurance on any vehicle used is required.
- Possess valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment.
