About the role
- Architect the strategy for platform systems and design scaling to ensure cross-squad resilience and durability.
- Unblock vertical product squads by identifying architectural bottlenecks and providing scalable design solutions that reduce technical and design debt.
- Lead the UX strategy and execution for foundational platform features, including universal navigation, notification frameworks, task management, and high-density data interfaces.
- Partner with engineering to maintain a shared repository of standardized components, ensuring pixel-perfect alignment between platform designs and production code.
- Serve as a strategic ambassador to the central Hawkins design team, influencing global standards to support complex Ads use cases while building deep credibility for Ads as a vital design partner.
- Evangelize documentation and paved-path frameworks that empower designers to adopt platform standards with velocity and autonomy.
- Operationalize AI-driven agentic workflows and intelligent UI patterns in partnership with the AI pillar to scale these frameworks across the Ads ecosystem.
- Ground platform decisions in research regarding human and agentic archetypes to ensure infrastructure remains future-proof.
- Audit the ecosystem to identify UI discrepancies and prioritize the foundational work needed to move the Ads Suite toward a unified experience layer.
- Influence Product and Engineering leadership to ensure platform infrastructure is both technically feasible and vision-aligned.
- Up-level the organization's craft through expert guidance, accelerating the speed of the entire design organization.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on platform systems, design scaling, or foundational infrastructure in complex B2B environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma and a deep understanding of how platform systems scale across diverse, high-density interfaces.
- A portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify high-complexity platform workflows, such as technical dashboards or multi-state state machines.
- Familiarity with front-end constraints and a history of successful collaboration with engineering to implement scalable systems.
- Proven ability to present platform-wide strategies to senior leadership and influence cross-functional roadmaps.
- Experience in the Advertising ecosystem (e.g. Ad Tech, programmatic buying, campaign management tools, etc.).
- Proficiency in high-fidelity prototyping to validate and demo system-level interactions.
- Knowledge of Accessibility (A11y) standards and how to embed them into the platform core.
