About the role
- Design, implement, and maintain developer tooling used by thousands of engineers
- Provide mentorship to colleagues inside and outside of the team
- Design and implement systems for reasonable default tool sets for users
- Develop strategies and technology for Developer Productivity AI space
- Optimize the engineer onboarding experience with Cloud Development Environments
- Move up and down the stack as needed
Requirements
- Previously maintained productivity tooling for other engineers
- Regularly used AI coding assistants in day to day development work
- Comfortable in a polyglot environment (Go, TypeScript, Java)
- Communication skills to collaborate and influence teams
- Product-centric mindset to understand business and user needs
- Strong senses of empathy and curiosity for building user experiences
- Comfortable operating in a loosely coupled but tightly aligned environment
- Optional nice-to-haves: Experience authoring MCP servers, prompt libraries, IDE extensions, Cloud Development Environments
- Knowledge of Linux systems and tools (SSH, containers, systemd)
- Experience developing web UIs using React
