About the role
- Functional management, leadership and execution of all sales activities for assigned retailer in the Natural Independent Channel
- Develop strategic relationships with independent natural channel retail groups to drive displays, distribution gains and ACV enhancement
- Establish strong working relationships with internal teams (Customer Strategy, Finance, Customer Service)
- Understand customers' go-to-market and Category Management strategies and align brand/category growth plans
- Deliver target budget plan, new product distribution goals and monthly sales analytics and reporting
- Identify new growth opportunities and develop written strategic sales plans
- Liaise with RVP to develop operational plans, manage execution and measure results
- Deliver customer presentations demonstrating innovation, shelf positioning, promotions and pricing
- Manage daily business with customers including UPC setup, maintenance, logistics and inventory
- Sell-in new products and promotions; ensure full-line distribution of products
- Work with customers to implement retail initiatives and monitor retail standards
- Ongoing contract management to strengthen customer and NHSc market position
- Work with agencies to input Trade Investment Management (Osprey), direct sales forecasting and projections
- Manage trade budgets with focus on ROI and P&L management within account coverage
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience preferred; minimum 2 years Independent Natural Retail Groups desired
- Sales experience in the Natural retail channel is required
- Experience in consumer goods and vitamins and supplements is required
- Experience with the science behind products and ability to effectively communicate benefits to retailers and consumers
- Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and set pricing/promotional activities
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with trade management systems (Osprey) and trade fund management
- Experience with UPC product/item setup, logistics and inventory management
- P&L management and strong financial acumen
- Project management and ability to manage multiple priorities and brands/categories
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to synthesize data
- Relationship management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Problem solver with solutions-oriented mindset and dynamic leadership ability
- Must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time
