About the role
- Act as a trusted HR partner to site leadership and line managers, aligning people plans to operational and commercial priorities
- Provide expert advice on employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance issues in a unionised/manufacturing setting
- Support organisational change initiatives
- Lead and support case management, ensuring consistency, compliance and timely resolution
- Coach and upskill managers in people management, leadership capability and employment best practice
- Use HR data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Support engagement initiatives and actions to improve retention, attendance and productivity
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and site agreements
- Partner with the wider HR team on company-wide projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Strong employee relations expertise, including experience working with trade unions
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Experience supporting 24/7 or multi-shift operations (desirable)
- Experience of change management in a factory or industrial setting (desirable)
