About the role
- Overseeing the franchise audit function to ensure adherence to franchise agreements and financial reporting accuracy
- Supervising and supporting the Audit Coordinator and Franchise Audit Specialists
- Leading the franchise audit program, from strategy and planning through execution and resolution
- Providing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports and conducting performance reviews
- Overseeing the audit process, including scheduling, execution, data analysis, and reporting
- Managing the relationship with external auditors and serving as the escalation point for franchisee disputes
- Collaborating with Legal, Accounting, Development, and Brand Leadership to ensure consistent interpretation and enforcement of franchise agreements
- Developing and maintaining a robust reporting system to track audit outcomes and compliance trends
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation
- Establishing and refining audit and compliance procedures and controls
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing
- At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role
- Experience with franchise organizations is preferred
- Proven leadership experience in auditing
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn new software
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
