Oversee the entire production process to ensure it stays on schedule and within budget, from internal planning until final delivery of event.
Collaborate with Finance and Production teams to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and provide regular financial reporting. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to optimize costs and ensure budget adherence.
Act as an effective communication conduit between Remote Operations Management and the Production teams
The Senior Production Manager coordinates with arena / stadium / and or tournament personnel regarding mobile unit arrival and schedule
Coordinates generator needs, equipment levels, internet needs, credentials, logistics such as compound set-up, security, catering, transportation, flight and hotel adjustments and reports crew logs; hires and partners with payroll for paying all support crews
Work closely with Production, Talent, and the show's Technical Manager to develop and maintain the full production schedule—from pre-production through live event execution.
Collaborate closely with the Technical Manager and show vendors, including those providing specialty cameras and other technical services.
Execute and distribute the show’s Production Memo, outlining all logistics and key production details.
Coordinate travel arrangements for the production crew, including flights, rental cars, and hotel accommodations.
When assigned to the studio, they will oversee the studio crew schedule and provide support to both Production and Talent teams; maintain close coordination with studio Technical Managers.
Identify, onboard, and assess production support staff such as production assistants (PAs), runners, spotters, stage managers, makeup artists, and statisticians.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations in partnership with the Technical Manager and EHS.
Serve as the primary Production Manager for WNBA operations, while supporting other Versant Media Sports properties (including Golf) as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or a related field
Minimum 6-8 years of experience in television production or related media projects
Strong, proven understanding of the end-to-end production process, with a focus on sports television
Proven understanding and competency of the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong leadership and management skills are needed to guide the production team
Proven knowledge of equipment and the equipment process as well as all procedures that are needed for various production projects
Must have a proven ability to work effectively with persons at all levels within the internal organization and with those outside of the organization
Must be willing to learn internal systems
Must be willing to work nights and weekends
Must be willing to accomplish tasks independently and timely
