About the role

  • Advise Nasdaq's Digital Assets business on evolving legal and regulatory requirements for digital asset securities, crypto trading, tokenization, and blockchain products
  • Draft and review regulatory filings, legal documents, and submissions required to advance business objectives and maintain compliance
  • Provide guidance on federal securities and commodities laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and state and international regulatory frameworks
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the U.S. and Europe to align legal strategy with business priorities
  • Support investigations, litigation matters, and enforcement inquiries while advising on company policies and legal requirements

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in good standing
  • 10–12 years of legal experience with significant focus on digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain regulatory matters
  • In-house legal experience at a digital assets company or law firm experience advising digital asset clients
  • Strong ability to apply federal securities and commodities laws to emerging digital asset markets
  • Clear communicator with experience in collaborative, cross-functional legal environments
  • Prior experience at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) (preferred)
  • Expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations (preferred)
  • Familiarity with international digital asset regulations and cross-border compliance frameworks (preferred)
