• Extend our data platform and orchestration layer, and optimize it for cost, runtime, and reliability so it holds up during the elections, with millions of outreach attempts
• Lead projects that span multiple systems and teams — scoping, designing, and driving them to real milestones
• Hold the bar on quality — test and validate your own work, review teammates' code, and mentor through that review
• Document and communicate — make your systems understandable to teammates, stakeholders, and non-engineers
• Rotate through on-call and rapid response, including evenings and weekends during high-stakes moments like election cycles

Data Engineer – Senior Data Engineer

Chief of Staff

• Track internal and external deadlines across CER’s programs and projects, ensuring deadlines set by ED and ML senior leadership are clearly communicated to Directors and that Directors have what they need to hit their goals. Surface risks or delays to the Executive Director as they arise, and decide when to escalate.
• Ensure key organizational information and decisions are documented and kept up to date at the appropriate cadence, requiring strong communication skills and coordination with CER leadership and deputy directors
• Build and improve processes, implement project management tools to optimize tracking and reporting
• Ensure relevant stakeholders, from Directors to the most junior team members, have access to the information and timelines they need, when they need it, synthesizing organization-relevant updates and pushing them down through the team as appropriate
• Represent the views of the Executive Director when needed
• Own CER’s operating cadence: quarterly planning, team retreats, all-hands meetings, and performance reviews
• Support alignment and communication with CEO, leadership team and potential board members
• Track organizational priorities and blockers in systems like Asana, ensuring the team is moving against them and surfacing risks early
• Manage the ED’s strategic to-do list and ensure it reflects current priorities
• Partner with the Development team to follow up on and execute action items after donor calls and meetings, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
• Work between the Executive Director and the Development team to turn program ideas into final, polished proposals ready to ship to donors and funders

Chief of Staff – Contest Every Race

Learning and Development

• Create compelling virtual trainings that set captains up for success and keep them engaged.
• Partner with comms on templates and social toolkits used in captain recruitment.
• Identify and pursue creative opportunities to deepen the program's impact and refine its model.
• Co-design, build, and continuously refine training curriculum, drawing on existing resources and lived experience.
• Own the shared resource library: messaging house, best-practice guides, FAQs, and quick-reference one-pagers.
• Lead live virtual trainings for captains across dozens of states and hundreds of counties, and train staff to do the same.
• Adapt delivery to different audiences: rural versus suburban, younger versus older participants, and everything in between.
• Ensure biweekly office hours for captains, which may include peer captain learning opportunities.
• Coordinate scheduling of part-time staff to ensure every training is covered, with backups and set schedules at least two weeks in advance.
• Hold at least a 30-minute one-on-one with each direct report once a week.

Distributed Neighborhood Captains Training Manager

Program Manager

• Build and manage the distributed Neighborhood Captains program end-to-end, scaling it across hundreds of county parties nationwide.
• Directly manage a program deputy who owns training and the front-of-house captain and volunteer experience.
• Design and own the program's digital infrastructure: onboarding flows, communication cadences.
• Build and maintain systems to track program health, report on key metrics, and monitor performance across the country.
• Use data to inform decisions and surface insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Partner with your deputy to recruit, train, and support volunteer captains, each of whom will own a list of roughly 50 voters in their own community.
• Foster a team culture that is inclusive, celebratory, and built to withstand the pressure of a campaign environment.
• Find creative solutions to digital issues as they arise to keep the program moving under tight deadlines.

Distributed Neighborhood Captains Program Manager

Associate

• Maintain accurate gift-tracking and reporting processes, both internally and externally, in coordination with partners (e.g., our 501c3 fiscal sponsor) as needed.
• Enter, update, and verify data to ensure call notes, donations, and pledges are appropriately tracked.
• Ensure that grant agreements and reporting timelines are tracked and executed.
• Pull lists from the CRM and edit as needed to support outreach, major donor briefings for Principals, and reporting needs.
• Draft grant reports by compiling program updates, impact data, and other required information for submission to funders.
• Support Principal call time by researching prospects and preparing briefing materials in coordination with call time managers.
• Conduct ad hoc prospect research as directed.
• Manage projects to improve the effectiveness of the team and ensure routine processes happen regularly and with quality.
• Run established automations that support the team’s daily work (e.g., identifying top prospects for upgrades from current donors, generating donor briefing materials ahead of donor calls, etc.).
• Produce and interpret reports to understand the effectiveness of fundraising tactics.

Development Associate, Senior Development Associate

Director

• Understand our donor landscape to own the roadmap for what’s most needed in our donor data and CRM systems, including evaluating and building new tools that extend or could eventually replace parts of our current setup.
• Design and manage the taxonomy of tags, custom data points, etc. that will allow us to effectively and relationally engage the donors that matter most to our impact
• Design the underlying automations, agents, forms, views, and workflows that let the team self-serve.
• Understand and preserve compliance requirements built into our current CRM setup when evaluating or building alternatives.
• Build and maintain Claude-powered automations supporting day-to-day fundraising work (briefing generation, prospecting support, and similar).
• Identify the next manual process worth automating, in partnership with the people doing that work today.
• Do the actual building - data wrangling, tool configuration, workflow fixes.
• Translate evolving, sometimes-ambiguous needs from fundraising leadership into working systems.
• Partner directly with front-line fundraisers (e.g., staff leading call time with internal principals and sending targeted emails) to understand how they actually work before building tools for them.
• Document systems and train the team on use.
• Partner with the team on data hygiene and reporting.
• Focus on improving how the team works, rather than running its day-to-day fundraising operations.

Senior Fundraising Systems Manager – Director, Major Donor

Strategy

• Partner closely with the Senior Client Strategy Director to identify prospective clients, lead discovery conversations, and develop partnership opportunities.
• Own and grow an assigned portfolio of prospective and existing client relationships, with responsibility for achieving assigned sales and revenue targets.
• Drive client opportunities from discovery through proposal development and contracting, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely follow-through.
• Support prospecting and outreach for priority partners, helping build and sustain a pipeline of new and expanded partnership opportunities.
• Develop fluency across Movement Labs' service offerings and, once ramped up, independently lead introductory client conversations, manage opportunities within an assigned portfolio and recommend solutions that align with partner goals and Movement Labs' mission.
• Translate client goals into ambitious, evidence-based programs by recommending tactics, timelines, metrics, and implementation plans across texting, RCT management/consulting, organizing consulting, and social/digital services.
• Operate effectively in ambiguity by taking initiative to move work forward before every answer is known and developing creative solutions to new challenges.
• Become deeply familiar with Movement Labs' projectprogram management systems and execution processes.
• Manage (or closely oversee Campaign Associates’ management of) the successful execution of key client programs and potentially oversee one or several Campaign Associates’ programs execution.
• Build strong relationships with clients by serving as a trusted, responsive partner throughout program implementation.

• Help manage the performance, reliability, and accountability of high-volume messaging programs.
• Build reporting systems that help understand messaging program performance.
• Identify delivery or compliance risks before they become major issues.
• Maintain source-of-truth analytics to aid decision-making.
• Develop alerting that identifies operational risks in real-time.
• Run post-incident reviews to identify root causes, lessons learned, and follow-up actions.

Senior Operations, Analytics Manager

• Lead day-to-day project management.
• Manage program timelines and proactively flag potential delays.
• Support the polling image workflows, updating Asana and spreadsheet/tracking tools.
• Collaborate with management to promptly resolve quality or timeline issues.
• Collaborate with Engagement Services and Data teams, to support successful program implementation.
• Manage data sourcing, quality, and continuous improvement of the Polling Place Images Program.
• Ensure that all polling location data and associated images meet internal standards for accuracy and quality.
• Manage FOIA requests to Secretaries of State and county election offices, ensuring data is acquired early and updated regularly.
• Verify polling location information and communicate with election officials to corroborate data.
• Oversee the Quality Controllers team.
• Manage a set of part-time employees (the “QC Team”) who assist with polling image quality control.
• Assign work to QCers, to ensure images for Election Day and Early Voting locations are captured and reviewed according to established procedures.
• Participate in administrative and managerial tasks as assigned (timesheets, evaluations, task supervision).
• Draft program learnings and results presentations.
• Synthesize analysis and insights, and present findings across teams.

Program Operations Coordinator – Polling Place Images

Manager

• Leverage "grasstops" and relational networks (e.g., local nonprofit leaders, former census workers, or community officials) to recruit high-quality candidates for the Neighborhood Captain role.
• Participate in the interview process and evaluate candidates through situational exercises related to canvassing and community engagement.
• Manage a regional cohort of 12–15 Neighborhood Captains, providing daily support and troubleshooting for voter contact issues.
• Lead onboarding and specialized training sessions on organizing and data fundamentals.
• Conduct regular one-on-one feedback sessions to address performance gaps and maintain a captain retention rate above 85% of initial cohort.
• Perform rigorous Quality Control (QC) by reviewing recorded outreach examples and verifying that data entry standards are met.
• Conduct Follow-ups by contacting voters previously engaged by your team to verify contact accuracy, appropriate data entry and interaction quality.
• Join your captains in the field to develop your own relationships with target voters in a designated turf.
• Execute the full five-phase engagement sequence, moving non-voters from initial human connection to civic mobilization.
