About the role
- Develop and set the strategic path to establish a geotechnical practice
- Position Montrose as the technical leader in the geotechnical industry by inspiring thought leadership, with a focus on technical quality, and innovation
- Provide leadership and direction for recruiting and organically setting up a geotechnical practice
- Foster engagement, ensure ongoing communication, and develop talent across the geotechnical business
- Drive a culture of business acumen that includes direction and planning to deliver budgeted business performance
- Communicate priorities and align resources to drive operational performance to achieve organizational objectives
- Partner closely with the Canadian Sales Team to accelerate organic growth through a strong client portfolio and strategic client selection
- Deliver operational excellence through consistent project delivery, quality and strong resource management practices
- Foster a high-performance culture through highly visible leadership that embraces continuous improvement
- Engage with an established client base to expand our geotechnical service offering
- Operate as and build a team of seller-doer’s, collaborating across service lines to help develop and support geotechnical opportunities
- Apply high-level geotechnical engineering techniques and processes to establish working practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus
- 15+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and geotechnical design
- Knowledge and experience in multiple provinces across Canada, specifically British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario
- Experience working with and collaborating with colleagues and clients outside of Canada
- Experience with merger and acquisition integration related to geotechnical practices
- Professional Engineering License in British Columbia, Alberta or Ontario
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high growth, fast paced and matrixed organization
- Demonstrated leadership, business acumen, employee development, organizational advancement and successorship accomplishments
- Proficient with geotechnical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues
- Experience with planning, design, and program/construction management; including project involvement in a variety of mitigation, new design, and construction projects
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., Slide, LPILE, Settle3, Geostudios, PLAXIS, etc.)
