About the role
- Assist in month-end closing activities, review categorization of credit card expenses, support bank reconciliations, and preparation of journal entries.
- Drive AR collections efforts through strategic customer follow-ups and close collaboration with Account Managers to ensure timely resolution of overdue accounts.
- Collaborate with the team on preparing annual audit requests and liaising with external auditors.
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns and perform related account reconciliations.
- Analyze spending patterns and exercise professional judgment to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improved spend control.
- Assist in conducting month-over-month variance analysis and providing commentary.
- Assist with process documentation and optimize current financial processes and software, specifically focusing on NetSuite functionality.
- Report on fixed asset management in NetSuite, including the analysis of additions and disposals.
- Participate in the testing and validation of system enhancements, upgrades, or new modules within NetSuite to ensure financial data integrity.
- Support the finance team with project management and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with exposure to month-end close activities, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
- Foundational knowledge of month-end closing, spending pattern analysis, and cost-saving identification.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, specifically NetSuite, and advanced spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with accounting softwares like Float, Panax, and TravelPerk.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactiveness and initiative in identifying process optimizations and spend control improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Account Managers and external auditors.
- Accountability and professional judgment in managing financial data and documentation.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
