About the role
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
- Monitor and report on inventory valuations, cost of goods sold, and variances.
- Conduct margin analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with operations and production teams to track and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards Support month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
- Prepare audit documentation and support external/internal audit requirements.
- Attend and participate in annual inventory counts.
- Continuously improve systems and processes to streamline costing practices.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (designation preferred).
- 3+ years of proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory management, and cost control.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Netsuite, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
