About the role
- Oversee a portfolio of multi-faceted internship programs and serve as an integral member of the Center’s advising team, facilitating career exploration and preparing students for experiential learning.
- Lead internships team in the implementation and delivery of high-impact internship programs and other experiential learning initiatives to promote career readiness and professional development.
- Manage application and distribution process for $1M+ in internship funding and steward donor funds.
- Serve as Instructor of record for the Summer Internships for Credit field work course.
- Develop and manage funded immersive living-learning-working cohort internship programs, directing CCI Select, MiddWorks for Vermont Internship Programs, and other programs as needed; supervise third-party partners who operate cohort programs.
- Advise students seeking internships and serve as point of contact for internship-related questions and issues.
- Design and facilitate student outreach and educational programming and resources to prepare students for internships.
- Collaborate closely with internal Center teams (internships, alumni-student mentoring, communications and outreach, data analytics, professional networks, and leadership); collect and interpret data and prepare reports related to experiential learning.
- Promote and advance the Center’s mission, values, and strategic priorities through advising, programs, and resources.
- Travel to off-campus sites and work occasional evenings and weekends; spend several hours per day in office work with extensive computer and monitor use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; master’s preferred.
- 5-7 years professional experience and knowledge of student development theory preferred.
- Experience in career development, higher education, internships, and program design and development desired.
- Deep understanding of the elite liberal arts education model and the unique challenges and opportunities for liberal arts students in career development and planning.
- Knowledge of the job search process; clear understanding of the role of internships and career education initiatives in accessing different employment sectors.
- Excellent written and oral communication, advising, organizational, research, analytical, presentation, networking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven relationship-builder; entrepreneurial attitude; adaptable to change; growth mindset.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail and results orientation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated commitment to Center’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
- Ability to travel to sites off-campus and work occasional weekends and evenings.
