About the role
- Execute and oversee planning, design, and construction for commercial service and general aviation airport clients in Texas.
- Serve in a leadership role within the local office and the aviation practice.
- Work with regional aviation leadership to grow the aviation practice in Texas focusing on project excellence, client management, team recruitment and business plan development and execution.
- Communicate and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, architects, and other engineers).
- Perform programming, design and construction engineering for statewide aviation projects.
- Apply FAA Design Circulars and Construction Specifications and perform geometric layout of airfield facilities.
- Develop construction plans and specifications for airside and landside projects, including airfield pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation, hangars, and general airport improvement projects.
- Prepare construction cost estimates, write reports, and develop client presentations.
- Provide construction engineering services including shop drawing review and responses to contractor questions.
- Engage in marketing, business development and pursuit of new opportunities; maintain ultimate performance for delivery of project quality and safety.
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field required.
- 7+ years of experience in aviation and aviation engineering.
- Preferred TX Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain.
- Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential.
- Aptitude for communicating with owner/client staff, contractors, and subconsultants.
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on policy, procedures and relevant software while acquiring understanding of company and client standards.
- Commitment to and confirmed track record of safely delivering projects on time, under budget, and of the utmost quality.
- Dedication to project goals, client satisfaction, corporate aspirations, business development, growth objectives, staff development, and operational excellence.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people; ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations.
