About the role
- Act as a trusted advisor to established water clients and collaborate with the sales team to secure new project work.
- Lead and oversee a team of 5–10 engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance.
- Manage scheduling, resource commitments, utilization, and technical quality of the team.
- Serve as technical lead for study, design, and construction projects related to water treatment and storage facilities.
- Diagnose, analyze, and implement treatment process improvements.
- Optimize treatment plant systems (pretreatment, filtration, chemical disinfection, residuals, energy systems, and storage).
- Conduct asset evaluations and contribute to long-term capital planning.
- Perform hydraulic modeling of treatment system processes and storage systems.
- Support utility staff with water expertise in critical situations.
- Represent the Water Group internally, aligning division goals with corporate objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
- 10+ years of experience in water treatment engineering.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of drafting software (CAD/Revit).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites and client meetings (occasional overnight travel required).
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with mentoring skills.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Good job tenure (avoid applicants with more than 2 jobs in last 6 years unless compelling reason).
