About the role
- Developing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM-based programs, HY-8, and/or WinTR-55.
- Preparing plans, specifications and estimates and performing data collection and/or field work
- Analyzing and designing hydraulic structures and flow systems
- Preparing maps, exhibits and technical reports
- Coordinating technical changes with project team members
- Developing cost estimates and conduct quantity takeoffs for design projects
- Supporting team in the design of water resources and drainage projects such as stormwater management systems, pipe hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, scour, floodplain evaluations, roadway drainage design, NPDES permit compliance, and water quality BMPs.
- Working closely with internal and external clients as part of a multi-discipline team. Meeting with and effectively communicating with technical team, project partners, and project stakeholders to coordinate project tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 0-3 years of experience in related water resources design
- Must demonstrate excellent speaking, oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with Bentley (MicroStation, Geopak, or Openroads). H&H modeling experience is a plus
