About the role
- Responsible for all accounting and tax functions at the University and the Miami University Foundation
- Ensures accuracy and reliability of accounting records and reports
- Primary liaison with the independent auditor
- Oversees all tax filings
- Prepares the annual audited financial report
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
- CPA license
- 7+ years of progressive leadership in accounting
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
- Knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory filings
- Understanding of internal controls and audit standards
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Workday
