About the role

  • Responsible for all accounting and tax functions at the University and the Miami University Foundation
  • Ensures accuracy and reliability of accounting records and reports
  • Primary liaison with the independent auditor
  • Oversees all tax filings
  • Prepares the annual audited financial report

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA license
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership in accounting
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory filings
  • Understanding of internal controls and audit standards
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Workday
