About the role
- Build strong relationships between employees and managers; act as single point of contact for employee relations issues
- Take proactive, strategic approach to identify employee relations trends, recommend root-cause solutions, and partner with leadership on execution
- Maintain employee relations function at assigned locations/functions and follow established ELR processes
- Provide counsel and coach leaders, managers and employees on employee relations issues, performance management, disciplinary processes, investigations, conflict management, and legal considerations
- Partner with Legal, Human Resources Business Partners and wider HR community to deliver consistent ER service and minimize risk
- Analyze trends in employment practices and utilize data to recommend proactive action and training opportunities
- Conduct investigations, research policies/practices, create and gather documentation, make determinations and implement resolutions
- Utilize conflict management techniques including training, mediation, and conflict coaching
- Provide training and coaching to managers to build ER skill sets and maximize talent
- Proactively reduce Employee Relations related risk through risk assessments and actionable feedback
- Maintain strict confidentiality and manage highly confidential HR information
- Ensure company compliance with employment law, policies and procedures and apply good practice to sustain reputation as a good employer
- Maintain strong business acumen while remaining objective
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ year of HR experience to include Employee Relations experience; or an advanced degree with 5+ year of experience
- Experience providing partnership with all levels of employees and leaders up to Director level leaders (nice to have)
- Demonstrated ability to influence and provide strategic partnership to leaders (nice to have)
- Experience in interpreting data/metrics to identify trends to proactively address (nice to have)
- Demonstrated knowledge of ER procedures and processes (nice to have)
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) (nice to have)
- Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or related field (nice to have)
- PHR Certification (nice to have)
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills (nice to have)
- Demonstrates strength in systems thinking (nice to have)
- Solid dispute resolution, negotiation and conflict resolution skills (nice to have)
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills (nice to have)
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and multi-task (nice to have)

- US based role and ability to work onsite a minimum of 4 days a week in Minneapolis, MN or Boulder, CO
