About the role
- Provide overall project management direction and integration for Enterprise Technology platforms
- Act as primary customer contact for program activities and lead program review sessions on cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Provide input to establish program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budget
- Maintain systems to track project status and report progress against key deliverables, including program dashboards and monitoring tools
- Establish milestones, monitor master plan adherence, identify problems and obtain solutions (resource allocation or contractual changes)
- Work with Platform technology teams to analyze Medtronic data and external benchmarking to discover best practices and gaps
- Solve issues through information exchange, influence, and persuasion without direct command
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for planning processes based on R&D and functional feedback
- Facilitate cross-business team input to develop global playbook and resources
- Work with Enterprise Technology leadership to target communications across R&D; develop and update stakeholder communication plans
- Prepare communications and determine best use of medium for communication
- Report to Vice President, Corporate Technology and collaborate across operating units, regions and functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (Nice to Have)
- Master’s degree in science or engineering and/or PhD in Science, Engineering (Nice to Have)
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) (Nice to Have)
- 5+ years of research and development experience in the Medical Device field
- Demonstrated success at dealing with ambiguity and delivering successful outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead people, teams, and projects and to get results through others
- Experience in establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Medtronic Lean Sigma Green or Black Belt certified or equivalent (Nice to Have)
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification (Nice to Have)
- CAP or other change management training experience (Nice to Have)
- Experience in technology and/or product pipeline strategy development
- Demonstrated proficiency in innovation management and resource planning
- Demonstrated understanding and application of financial planning and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Demonstrated success facilitating a team
- Ability to analyze individual projects in the context of the entire portfolio
- Ability to scope & manage local and remote projects
- Demonstrated success in driving large, complex programs to successful completion
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix business environment - excellent leadership, change management and influencing skills
- Excellent decision-making skills, considering all relevant factors and stakeholders
- Physical requirements: regularly required to be independently mobile, interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers
- In-person requirement: minimum of 4 days a week onsite
