About the role

  • The HL7 Integration Engineer supports the successful onboarding of new clients by designing, building, testing, and deploying data interfaces.
  • Lead end-to-end development of client interfaces, including requirements gathering, mapping, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Build and maintain HL7, XML, JSON, CSV, and API-based interfaces using Mirth Connect or similar tools.
  • Develop transformation logic to support ADT, ORU, SIU, DFT, MDM, and other RCM-related data feeds.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact during client onboarding for all integration-related activities.
  • Collaborate with client IT teams and EMR vendors.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including unit, integration, and end-to-end validation of interfaces.
  • Provide post-go-live support to ensure interface stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience building HL7 interfaces in healthcare or RCM settings.
  • Experience with interface engines such as Mirth Connect.
  • Working knowledge of SFTP, VPN, networking basics, and API integrations.
  • Preferred: Experience within a Revenue Cycle Management organization.
  • Knowledge of medical coding workflows, documentation feeds, and charge capture processes.
