About the role
- Develop sales objectives and strategies in line with organizational goals and territory targets
- Successfully acquire new customers/accounts; penetrate the market across all call points
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding top-line sales; quota target for each fiscal year
- Present and sell the company’s products and services through daily customer visits
- Help customers select the products and programs that best meet their needs
- Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers across the continuum of care
- Accelerate resolution of customer issues and complaints in a timely manner
- Capture and communicate customers’ needs, issues and interests objectively with colleagues
- Work with the contracting team and division managers as needed and proactively on request-for-proposal processes
- Become a subject-matter expert in the assigned sales area on your own initiative, and by attending all required sales meetings/training sessions
- Regularly participate in internal and vendor product training events to stay up to date on Medline and competitor products
- Attend conventions and other sales-related events to promote the company and its products
- Assist the accounting department with the accounts receivable process for customers, as required
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clinical and procurement decision-makers
- Prepare and deliver any ongoing training related to product trials
- Ensure satisfactory clinical performance of all products by identifying and resolving customer concerns in a timely manner
- Serve as the on-site lead for all procurement and request-for-proposal processes to ensure retention of existing business and favorable positioning for new business
- Provide all competitive details required to support any national GPO RFPs, if necessary
- May be required to maintain the Medline CRM program—with all current sales opportunities and contact information—or keep those opportunities in personal files
- Adhere to allocated travel and expense budgets for the geographic territory
- Prepare and deliver effective presentations and RFP responses, as needed
Requirements
- 1–3 years of successful sales experience considered an asset, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Proven ability to meet/exceed forecasts, budgets, targets and timelines
- Extensive knowledge of the medical device industry is considered an asset
- Able to guide customers through the learning curve of a new product/procedure for routine and complex cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage priorities effectively
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-changing, dynamic environment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills (Excel / MS Word / PowerPoint)
