- Position Description: We are hiring a Senior Accountant who will work with our Finance team to support Mechanism Ventures and Portfolio Companies. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for the review of a variety of processes. You will also recommend process improvements and may lead their ‘roll-out’ to the Accountants. Mechanism strives to automate recurring tasks and you will play an important role in such initiatives.
- Each Finance team member promotes rapid, efficient communication among a variety of stakeholders in order to successfully operate in a dynamic and fast-paced group of companies. This includes a network of employees, contractors, CEO’s, Practice Area Leaders, vendors, etc., within the US and those who may be located internationally.

Requirements
- Must possess US or Canadian CPA licensure in good standing
- Excellent written and oral English communication.
- Accounting experience with US-based companies and a solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Four years of accounting experience including at least two years of experience as a Senior Accountant or equivalent.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and foster an environment of rapid execution, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ability to mentor others and create easy to follow, documented processes
- You are confident and comfortable proactively communicating your ideas, challenges, and other important issues to colleagues and other stakeholders.
- You are able to rapidly context switch as you work across different industries.
- Professionally you are available to dedicate your efforts to this opportunity alone.
- You are a team player who can collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders of varying levels of financial acumen.
- Four years of public accounting experience required.
- Two years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Understanding of, and ability to direct Accountants in industry-recognized best practices.
