About the role
- Review of input data and preparation, filing of all Lloyd's Regulatory returns for Lloyd's Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including schedules F&P), US and Canadian SIS.
- Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts.
- Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual/interim report and accounts, management information and financial schedules and monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
- Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting.
- Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and to monitor the accuracy of this data.
- Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors and actuaries as necessary.
- Ad hoc finance projects.
Requirements
- Ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to Syndicate Finance Manager or Client Finance Director.
- Ability to work in an orderly and well organised fashion.
- Willingness to learn and put in extra effort when circumstances require.
- Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by specific and relevant insurance experience essential.
- Familiarity and experience of Lloyd’s reporting requirements e.g. working knowledge of the specific syndicate returns to be submitted to Lloyd’s.
- Sound knowledge of IT systems in use within the Asta accounting function – especially Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts – would be advantageous.
