About the role

  • End-to-end execution and oversight of the bank's data governance framework, covering regulatory, risk, technology, and business domains.
  • Implement and operationalize data governance tools such as Informatica EDC, Axon, and DEQ.
  • Advance data cataloging, lineage, and quality maturity to enhance data governance practices.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify and address regulatory gaps and ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data governance professionals, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and requirements, ensuring effective data governance strategies are in place.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data governance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data quality and metadata management practices are robust and aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior data governance role, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Expertise in data governance tools and technologies, including Informatica EDC, Axon, and DEQ.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A deep understanding of data quality and metadata management principles, and experience in implementing effective strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across business and technology teams, fostering a culture of data governance and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address regulatory gaps and challenges.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance and analytics.
  • A relevant bachelor's degree in a field such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in data governance or related fields are highly desirable.
